NH2-PLGA(20k)-PEG(2k)-MAL can self-assemble upon dispersion in aqueous solution where the poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) core being shielded by PEG shell. The micelles formation can be used to encapsulate hydrophobic biopharmaceutical drugs which is then delivered in vivo. The amine group is reactive with an NHS ester or with a carboxyl (COOH) in the presence of activating agent, such as HATU or EDC, to form a stable amide linkage. The maleimide moiety is reactive with thiol to form a stable thioether bond. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
