NH2-PLGA(2k)-mPEG(2k) is an amino terminated amphiphile polymer. The terminal amine can react with NHS ester at pH 7-9 to form a stable amide linkage. Upon dispersion in water, the polymer self-assembles to form micelles with poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) core and PEG shell. The core can be used as hydrophobic drugs reservoir while the shell can protect against enzymatic/hydrolysis degradation. The polymer is biodegradable and can be used for sustained release drug delivery. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
