mPEG(1k)-PLGA(5k)-Thiol contains two distinct polymers, a hydrophobic poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) block and a hydrophilic PEG block. The thiol attched to PLGA can react with maleimide. The polymer can form micelles in water with PLGA core and PEG shell formation. The core can be used to entrap hydrophobic drugs for controlled release drug delivery.
