PLGA(3k)-PEG(2k)-ALK is an alkyne functionalized block copolymer with hydrophobic poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) attached to a hydrophilic PEG block. Upon dispersion in aqueous soluton, the polymer self-assembles to form micelles where the core and shell are made of PLGA and PEG, respectively. The biodegradable copolymer can be used in drug delivery/nanomedicine to encapsualte hydrophobic therapeutics. The PLGA can be degraded via hydrolytic attack on the ester bonds. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
