PLGA(5k)-PEG(2k)-FOL is a block copolymer with poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) as a hydrophobic segment and PEG as a hydrophilic block. The polymer can bind to folate receptor on the surface of a broad spectrum of cancer tissue. It is amphipathic and can self-assemble in aqueous media to form micelle which can be used to design nanoparticles-based targeted cancer therapy via folate receptor which minimizes nonspecific uptake in normal cells. The polyester PLGA is biodegradable via hydrolytic attack on the ester bonds. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
