PLGA(5k)-PEG(5k)-FOL is an amphipathic polymer which can self-assemble in water. The hydrophobic poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) segment can be used to entrap hydrophobic therapeutics while the PEG block can form a tight shell around the core due to hydrogen bonds interaction with water. The folic acid terminus can strongly bind with folate receptor in neutral pH and transports them into cells. This property enables site specific delivery of therapeutic agents in a drug delivery system. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
