PLGA(4k)-PEG(2k)-FITC is a biocompatible block copolymer with green FITC dye attached to the hydrophilic PEG. The hydrophobic block of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) can be used to encapsulate lipophilic drugs. The polymer is biodegradable via hydrolysis of the ester bonds.
