PLGA(5k)-PEG(2k)-NH2 is a nanomicellar-forming block copolymer which can be used for formulation and delivery of biopharmaceutical drugs. The amino moiety can react with an NHS ester at pH 7-9 to form a stable amide linkage. The polyester, poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA), is biodegradable via hydrolytic attack on the ester bonds.
