PCL(3k)-PEG(2k)-MAL is a micelle-forming polymer for drug encapsulation in drug delivery system. The polymer has terminal maleimide which can react with thiol molecule to form a stable thioether linkage. The polyester, polycaprolactone (PCL), can be degraded via hydrolysis on the ester bonds.
