PLA(4k)-PEG(3k)-MAL has terminal maleimide which can react with thiol molecule via thioether bond formation. The polymer forms micelles in water where the core contains racemic PLA and the shell is made of PEG. This polymer can be used to prepare nanocarrier for therapeutic agents/drugs.
