PLLA(2k)-PEG(3k)-SPDP is an amphiphilic block copolymer which can self-assemble to form micelles in water. The polymeric micelles with hydrophobic poly(L-lactide) core can be used to encapsulate hydrophobic drugs while the PEG shell provides protection against degradation as well as "stealth behavior" in vivo.
