Acetal-pGlu, Acetal-Poly-L-glutamic acid, MW 2,500 is a synthetic polyamino acid having one COOH function per glutamic acid unit and a terminal acetal group. pGlu is soluble in water(alkaline solution), dichloroacetic acid, chloroform, DMF(warm), and dioxane. The terminal acetal groups are stable compared to hemiacetals but their formation is a reversible equilibrium as with esters.
