Hyaluronic Acid Tetrabutylammonium, MW 1,500,000 is comprised of hyaluronic acid that has been is functionalized with a terminal carboxylic acid and a tetrabutylammonium counter ion. While it is abundant in extracellular matrices, hyaluronic acid also contributes to tissue hydrodynamics, movement and proliferation of cells, and participates in a number of cell surface receptor interactions. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. HATU) to form a stable amide bond. Reagent grade, for research use only.
