t-Boc-Aminooxy-PEG4-acid contains a Boc-protected aminooxy group and a terminal carboxylic acid. The terminal carboxylic acid (CO2H) is reactive with primary amine groups in the presence of EDC, to form a amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
