Stearic acid-PEG-Mal, MW 5,000 is an amphiphilic PEG polymer which forms micelles in an aqueous solution. The terminal maleimide can react with thiol/cysteine via Michael-addition to form a thiosuccinimide molecule. The aliphatic chain of stearic acid can be used to encapsulate or congregate hydrophobic therapeutic agents while the PEG chain enhances overall solubility of the polymer. Reagent grade, for research purpose. Please contact us for GMP-grade inquiries.
