Fluorescein-PEG8-azide

Fluorescein-PEG8-azide

Fluorescein-PEG8-azide is a xanthene dye with excitation/emission maximum of 494/517 nm and an azide group. It can be reacted with terminal alkynes via a copper-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC). It also reacts with strained cyclooctyne via a copper-free “click chemistry” reaction to form a stable triazole and does not require Cu-catalyst or elevated temperatures. It could be used as a quantum yield standard. Hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media and reduces steric hindrance during binding. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
