Fluorescein-PEG4-Mal is a xanthene dye containing a maleimide group, which selectively reacts with free thiol, sulfhydryl, or mercapto group via Michael addition to form a stable carbon sulfur bond. It could be used as a quantum yield standard. Hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media and reduces steric hindrance during binding. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
