Nesiritide (Brain Natriuretic Peptide-32, human) is a recombinant human B-type natriuretic peptide and an NPR agonist with high affinity for NPR-A and NPR-C. It regulates L-type calcium channel activation/inactivation and exhibits vasodilatory, diuretic, and natriuretic effects, making it useful in cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and vascular remodeling after arterial injury.
