PCL(1k)-PEG(2k)-COOH is a monofunctional amphiphilic block copolymer. The biodegradable polymer can form micelles in water and can be used for drug encapsulation in drug delivery. The carboxyl (COOH) is reactive to amine in the presence of activating agent, such as HATU/EDC to form a stable amide bond. The polyester, polycaprolactone (PCL), is biodegradable via hydrolytic attack on the ester bonds. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
