HMRhoNox-M is a Fe²⁺-selective fluorescent probe that shifts to a fluorescent form upon Fe²⁺ binding. Non-fluorescent at physiological pH, it exhibits a 60-fold fluorescence increase at 575 nm with Fe²⁺. Cell-permeant and lysosome-localized, it monitors labile iron fluctuations in living cells, including transferrin-mediated Fe uptake.
