BroadPharm, a leading customer-focused biotech company, has recently been granted a new US patent (US 9,862,682 B2) "Functionalized PEGylated Cyanine Compounds, Pharmaceutical Compounds, and Methods of Use Thereof" which covers functionalized PEGylated cyanine compounds and their applications. The incorporation of a PEG moiety into cyanine dyes has greatly improved the dye's aqueous solubility, lowered aggregation, making the fluorescent dye more user-friendly. Attachment of various functional groups on these cyanine dyes broadens their applications in bio-labeling, diagnostic, imaging and other R&D fields.

"The granting of the new patent further demonstrates BroadPharm's leading position in providing multi-functional fluorescent labeling tools and PEGylation reagents." said David Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of BroadPharm.
